Privacy Policy

The short version: Rungle is a free daily puzzle game. We do not sell your data to anyone. If you play as a guest your progress is stored only in your own browser. If you sign in with Google we store your game stats. We show ads to keep the game free.

1. Who we are

Rungle is a daily ranking puzzle game available at playrungle.com. References to "we," "us," or "our" in this policy refer to the operators of playrungle.com. You can reach us at contact@playrungle.com.

2. Information we collect

We collect different information depending on how you use the game:

Guest players (no sign-in): Your puzzle progress, guess history, and streak data are stored only in your browser's local storage. This data never leaves your device and we never see it.
Signed-in players (Google Sign-In): When you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your Google account name, email address, and profile photo. We use these only to identify your account and display your name. We store your game statistics (puzzles played, win percentage, streak) associated with your account.
Contact form: If you submit feedback via the ? → Contact us form, we receive your email address and message. We use this only to reply to you.
Automatically collected: Like all websites, our hosting provider logs basic technical data including your IP address, browser type, and pages visited. We use this for security and to understand general traffic levels, not to identify individuals.

3. Google Sign-In

Sign-in is powered by Google Identity Services. When you click "Continue with Google," you are authenticating directly with Google under their own privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy). We receive only the basic profile information described above. We do not receive your Google password or payment information. You can sign out at any time via the account icon in the top right corner.

4. Advertising and cookies

Rungle displays advertisements provided by Google AdSense to keep the game free to play. Google AdSense uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to serve ads that are relevant to you, based on your browsing history across websites. This is industry-standard behaviour for ad-supported websites.

Specifically, Google may use the DoubleClick cookie and other mechanisms to:

Show you ads based on your interests
Limit how often you see the same ad
Measure the effectiveness of ad campaigns

You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting google.com/settings/ads or by using the NAI opt-out tool. Google's use of advertising cookies is governed by their privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

Beyond AdSense, we do not use any tracking cookies of our own.

We do not use your information for any other purpose. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties except as described in this policy (Google Sign-In and Google AdSense).

6. Data retention

Guest player data exists only in your browser and is deleted when you clear your browser storage. Signed-in account data (your name, email, and game stats) is retained while your account is active. You can request deletion at any time by emailing contact@playrungle.com and we will remove it within 30 days. Contact form messages are retained only as long as needed to respond to your query.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you are located, you may have rights under data protection law including the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at contact@playrungle.com. We will respond within 30 days. If you are in the European Economic Area, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

8. Children's privacy

Rungle is a general-audience game and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Rungle after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. For significant changes we will make reasonable efforts to notify users.
